Can I Come Alone to a Pregnancy Test?
You’re young, and you’re scared.
You missed your period—or maybe something just feels off—and now your mind is spinning with questions.
“Am I pregnant?”
“Can I get help without anyone finding out?”
“Will someone tell my parents if I go to a clinic?”
If this is you, take a deep breath. You’re not alone—and you have the right to get the care and answers you need, even if you’re a teenager.
You Do Not Need a Parent to Come With You
In Florida, you are legally allowed to seek help for pregnancy-related care on your own, without a parent or guardian. That means you can visit Options for Women for a free pregnancy test—and even an ultrasound—without your mom or dad knowing.
This isn’t just a policy—it’s the law. Teen girls have the right to confidential reproductive care, and that includes pregnancy testing.
And maybe even more importantly:
Your privacy is protected and your information is confidential. That means no one—not your parents, not your school, not even your doctor—can be told about your visit here unless you give permission.*
You Have Questions. We Have a Safe Place.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re already carrying a heavy weight. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, ashamed, or just deeply afraid of what might come next. We want you to know:
It’s okay to be scared.
It’s okay to not have all the answers.
It’s okay to come alone.
At Options for Women, you’ll be met with kindness—not judgment.
We’ve walked alongside many young women who have felt exactly what you’re feeling right now. You don’t have to be brave alone.
What Happens When You Come In?
If you decide to come in (and we hope you do), here’s what your visit might look like:
- You’ll take a free, lab-quality pregnancy test that’s more accurate than over-the-counter options.
- If it’s positive, you can receive a free ultrasound to help you understand how far along you are.
- One of our trained staff members will sit with you to talk about what your options are—without pressure.
- You can also get free STD testing if you need it.
- And through it all, your visit remains completely confidential.
You are in control. We are simply here to help.
Should I Tell My Parents?
That’s a big decision—and one only you can make.
Some young women find comfort in sharing their situation with a parent, grandparent, aunt, or trusted adult. Others aren’t ready—or it might not be safe.
Whatever your reasons, we respect them.
We’ll support you whether you come alone or bring someone with you. We’ll always treat you with respect, privacy, and compassion—no matter what.
You Are Not Alone in This
We know this is one of the hardest moments you may ever face.
But you don’t have to face it alone.
At Options for Women, we’re here to provide clarity in the middle of your confusion. Hope when everything feels uncertain.
And a caring hand to help guide you—at your pace, on your terms.
