Options for Women PHC is thrilled to announce the opening of a new satellite clinic serving the Bartow area, starting at the end of January. The clinic, which will be located in the Church Service Center located at 495 E. Summerlin St., will have its grand opening on January 27th, and will begin serving patients the following week.
So what does this new clinic opening mean for you?
Options for Women currently provides free medical services to women facing unplanned pregnancies in the Lakeland area, but this new clinic allows us to offer our free services to women on the eastern side of the county, as well. That means if you live on the other side of Polk County, you can now access our free medical services, without the drive to Lakeland.
We offer free pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, and STD tests. You’ll receive the same compassionate, professional care, closer to home.
“We know that for many women facing unplanned pregnancies, there are a lot of decisions to make and it can be a scary and confusing time,” says Marilyn Paul, executive director of Options for Women. “We hope that by opening this satellite clinic in Bartow, more women will have access to the important free services we provide, and they can see their fear transformed into confidence for the future.”
In addition to the services we provide our pregnant patients, we also offer free STD testing for the community, and we offer a free women’s wellness program. Through the wellness program, any woman over the age of 18 who is without insurance or Medicaid may be eligible for a voucher for a free visit with a local OB/GYN. Options for Women provides a free screening, and if found eligible, the patient can see an OB/GYN to receive a pap smear, lab testing, breast exam, flu shot and tetanus shot, all free of charge.
Options for Women served 325 women in 2016 at our Lakeland clinic and our satellite clinic at the DREAM Center of Lakeland. We are thrilled to be able to offer our free, life-affirming services to women in the greater Bartow community.
Our services will begin on January 30. Clinic hours will be 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
